Social technologies such as Ning and wikis have become an integral part of some courses. These collaborative, web-based tools encourage students to extend their learning beyond the classroom and campus. To make ubiquitous computing—and, therefore, ubiquitous learning—easier, the Studio has begun to experiment with mobile computing devices for ad hoc classroom computing and student travel.
